At the beginning of the New Year, Taiwan revealed news that a Black Eagle helicopter crashed in mountainous areas with several senior military officials on board, of which Shen Yiming, chief of Staff, was dead. The death of a senior officer from a helicopter fall is not uncommon, and almost every army has occurred. But it is not uncommon to kill more than one senior officer at a time.
The U.S. army is the first in the world to be equipped with helicopters, the most heavily armed, and the most involved in helicopter warfare. However, the analysis of the case can be found that the U. S. military has never occurred because of the helicopter fall caused the general \"regiment out\" situation.
A total of eight U.S. generals died during the U.S. military's journey from the Korean War to the Vietnam War, and the first to go into the annals of history was U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Briyonte Moore, who crashed into the Han River near South Korea's Lizhou on February 24,1951. During the Vietnam War, U.S. troops used a large number of helicopters to carry out various operations and transportation missions, and the number of generals killed by the crash reached as many as six. Of course, some of them were accidents, some were downed and some had not been identified so far.
Specifically, major hodgmous of the u. s. marines died when the helicopter exploded in the air for unknown reasons; major general will of the army was killed when the helicopter was shot down by anti-aircraft fire and brigadier adams was shot down in a helicopter at central heights; major general dillard of the army was shot down at the same location; major cassie of the army was killed when bad weather crashed; and a major admiral robinson of the u.
In peacetime, the U.S. military also has records of high-ranking officers who died in a helicopter crash. In 1993, Major General Robertson of the German-American Army died in the plane of the Black Hawk.
The Soviet Union\/Russia has also witnessed the death of an official from a helicopter. However, it is not convenient to find and count the historical records of the Soviet period. Cases that have been confirmed in recent years include the shooting down of a meter 26 in chechnya in 2002, when 126 russian troops, including army lieutenant general lebede, were killed.
The People's Liberation Army has also witnessed the death of generals as a result of helicopter crashes. On July 7,1976, then commander of the Fuzhou military region, Lieutenant General Pidingjun, was killed when the helicopter hit the mountain.
Although the helicopter is convenient and easy to use, but as a tropospheric aircraft, take off and land in a narrow space, its risk is still considerable. As a result, the army generally has to avoid allowing more than one senior officer, especially top officials above the generals, to ride in a helicopter. However, in the lower management of the army, there will be a high-ranking regimental situation.
For example, on november 23,1963, an indian army helicopter crashed in kashmir, killing five officers in addition to its pilots. Since then, the indian army has learned a lesson, although there has been a general landing, but there has been no problem of more than the same helicopter.
Taiwan's army is unrepentant on this issue. On December 27,1974, the two UH-1H helicopters of the Taiwan Army fell one after another because of bad weather, killing and wounding the school 13 people, the highest rank of the dead is Lieutenant General. Dozens of years later, Taiwan's army has once again turned tragic by cramming more and higher rank officers into the same helicopter.
